In Argentina, APPLUS+ ITEUVE ARGENTINA, a subsidiary of the Applus+ Group, operates 20 vehicle inspection centers consisting of 43 lanes throughout the province of Buenos Aires. Applus+ performs over 500,000 inspections annually on a number of vehicle types, including across heavy goods vehicles, light passenger vehicles and motorcycles. The system in Buenos Aires is based on a centralized operation where Applus+ Iteuve Argentina is one of the main providers of vehicle inspections in the province.
During the inspection, a series of safety checks are conducted on each vehicle, covering brakes, suspension, headlight direction and exhaust emission. Owners of vehicles that must be inspected can request an appointment at one of the centers. Appointments may also be scheduled on-line through the site: www.applus.com.ar
The system has been in operation since 1997, under the provincial government control, where Applus+ Iteuve Argentina is one of three concessioners operating this service.
