The city of Machala has a new Technical Review Center, the first in the Province of Oro, with the aim of reducing the rate of traffic accidents related to technical-mechanical defects in motor vehicles and improving air quality in the local area.
The City of Machala on its commitment to road safety and the environment, will begin to operate its Vehicle Technical Review Centre next Monday, October 25, 2021. The centre managed and operated by Applus+ Automotive, leading company in technical inspection of vehicles in Ecuador and worldwide, it will be the first in the Province of Oro.
It will have 3 inspection lines and has operational capacity to serve 90,000 vehicles per year. In addition, the Registration Office and the Department of Public and Commercial Transportation will operate on the same premises, thus being one of the most advanced in technological matters in the country and the city’s Vehicle Retention Centre is located on the same site.
Light, medium and heavy vehicles according to their private, public and commercial service, including motorcycles throughout the Province, must meet the minimum security requirements, established by law at the national level. The technical review is mandatory throughout the Ecuadorian territory, being the only current certification and leaving the old visual review without effect, which will no longer be valid for circulation.
Vehicle users who performed their Technical Review have a 95% approval rate, so it is advisable to carry out the test without fear of being rejected. For this, the company offers the Pre-Review service totally free, in which all points of the vehicle are inspected and in case of being approved, you have the option of finalizing the registration process, otherwise, you will have one more chance. You will also have other services available such as: Banco de Machala branch in order to cancel the pending values to register the car, weekly raffles to fill your vehicle with fuel and many more benefits.
