These environmental tests are ground-breaking in Denmark, with Applus+ becoming a pioneer in the car inspection business. Pollution tests are carried out while the bus is driving at 80 kilometres per hour, meaning that the tests are “live”.
This creates practical challenges not only with the test result and the new equipment, but also its physical implementation. With test equipment mounted on the exhaust pipe of the bus, it is of paramount importance that the pipes are fastened securely in place.
In order to become familiar with the equipment for environmental testing, Applus+ in Denmark was supported by a very experienced Applus+ team in Spain, demonstrating the company's ability to successfully operate on a global scale. Combining its local market knowledge with experienced automotive specialists has allowed Applus+ to develop and operate a number of vehicle inspection programmes.
The nationwide Applus+ inspection network in Denmark makes it possible for the public transport agency to achieve its aim of bringing all of its buses to an international standard.
This project places Applus+ at the forefront of environmental testing in Denmark and moves it closer to the goal of becoming a global leader in automotive inspection and verification, committed to providing governments, manufactures and traders with the best solutions to improve vehicle safety and reduce harmful vehicle emissions.
Applus+ has worked extensively with government agencies and vehicle manufacturers to develop best-in-class tailored innovative technological automotive inspection solutions. Worldwide, it conducts over 20 million inspections annually across Europe, North and South America.
