Applus+ renews its NCT contract in Ireland until 2030

    The company and the Road Safety Authority of Ireland signed officially signed the new contract on the 15th August 2019   
    The contract, which in 2018 represented 4.7% of the total revenue of Applus+, is one of the most strategic operations for the Group 
    Through its Applus+ Automotive division which is specialized in technical vehicle inspections, the company consolidates its position as one of the world leaders in the sector 

    Applus+, a leading company in inspection, testing and certification, were chosen as the preferred bidder under a competitive tendering process to renew the provision of statutory vehicle inspection services in Ireland. This contract will operate for a ten year period to commence from June 2020 to June 2030. The company, which were the sole operators of the service for the last decade, has now officially signed the contract with the Road Safety Authority of Ireland. With the signing of this contract, Applus has further strengthened its relationship with the Authority who have also renewed their trust in Applus+ Automotive and the company's statutory vehicle inspection division.  
     
    This concession in Ireland, which represented 4.7% of the company's total revenue in 2018, is one of the Group's most important contracts. As the sole provider of the service in Ireland, Applus currently operates 47 vehicle test stations, inspecting more than 1.6 million vehicles per year. In the new contract, Applus+ anticipate they will create in excess of 80 new jobs in the coming years adding to their current workforce of over 800 employees. 
     
    This new agreement sees a significant increase in the number of contracts renewed by the group recently.  Of the 33 contracts currently being managed by the Applus+ Automotive division, 10 of the 11 contracts that have reached their termination date recently and have been renewed or extended, thus demonstrating the ability of Applus+ to establish and maintain trusting relationships with its customers.
